Ideology 2006 Red Wine
The Cabernet is from our family vineyard, Robert Williamson Family Estate. It’s bordered on the north by Dry Creek, which has left its legacy by distributing sandy and gravelly soil throughout the vineyard. These soils translate into ideal growing conditions for the fruit, yielding deep, concentrated and intense flavors in the wine. The Merlot is from a vineyard on Big Ranch Road, a perfect growing climate for a rich, deep Merlot.
After picking, the grapes were sorted and de-stemmed into a fermentation tank where they rested and soaked for 3 days. After a warm fermentation the wine was gently pressed to barrels for malolactic fermentation. This wine was aged in 50% new French Oak barrels for 30 months. This wine was neither fined nor filtered.
Nose: Ripe red cherries and red liquorish dominate giving way to sweet vanilla and allspice.
Palate: A velvety entry of rose petals, red cherries and plums, continuing into a medley of red and black fruits. The finish is soft and graceful.
